Our Music Theatre Program's acting courses include: Theatre History and Stagecraft, Text Analysis & interpretation, Character Development, Improvisation & Physical Comedy. The music component offers: the History of Music Theatre, Musical Theory, Ear Training and Sight-singing, Vocal Technique & Interpretation. Dance courses include Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Contemporary. Master Classes are offered by guest artists from the world of entertainment.

Music course requirements can vary from school to school; students are strongly urged to contact the four-year institution of their choice prior to transferring to verify required coursework. Because the curriculum at many four-year colleges expect that studentsâ first two years of study include 1) two semesters of music history, 2) four semesters of music theory, 3) four semesters of ear-training, 4) four semesters of individual applied music study, 5) piano proficiency and 6) four semesters of participation in a performance group, it is recommended that students planning to transfer as a junior select from the following courses:

Music classes take place in the studios and classrooms at Kerry Hall, an historical landmark in the popular Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle. Productions are presented on campus in two black box studio theaters, as well as the larger flexible Ned and Kayla Skinner Theater in the Raisbeck Performance Hall, the PONCHO Concert Hall/Theater in Kerry Hall, and the Cornish Playhouse at the Seattle Center. Off-campus performance venues have included the Broadway Performance Hall on Capitol Hill.
